When PNW designed the Coast Stem, they had two key objectives in mind: to create a stem that complements the PNW Coast Drop Bar and satisfies the inner tech nerd in all of us. This stem was intentionally designed to be short, aligning with the specific requirements of the wider PNW Coast Drop Bar.
Using your current stem length with the Coast Drop Bar would result in your arms being stretched out to the sides and your body leaning forward, akin to Superman flyingâcertainly not an ideal position for biking. The shorter length of the Coast Stem, coupled with a comfortable 7° rise, places your body in an optimal position that balances comfort with an aggressive riding stance.
To ensure you don't miss capturing those epic moments, the Coast Stem includes a removable GoPro mount. This allows you to easily attach your action camera or mount a light to illuminate your path during nighttime adventures. So, you can confidently embark on your gravel escapades, recording memories or lighting up the night with pride.
Determining the right size for the Coast Stem can be a bit challenging, as there's no universal rule that works for everyone. However, a good starting point is to drop 10mm on your stem for every 20mm increase in width of the handlebar. Ultimately, personal preference plays a significant role in sizing decisions.

*Many light companies have adapters for this GoPro mount that allow you to attach lights to the front of your stem. When purchasing a light the specs should confirm it works with a GoPro adapter.
