Magura’s philosophy is simple: even the most powerful brake is useless if you can’t modulate it. By enlarging the pistons to 12mm at the master and 19mm at the caliper, Magura significantly reduced the pressure in the system, so less force is lost through the hose. The result is a clearly defined bite point with the same award-winning modulation as the GUSTAV PRO. Under the skin, the brake master is technically based on the PRO; the differences come down to the cover, clamp, lever, and a slightly simpler caliper finish, not trail performance.
Like the PRO, the ELITE is designed around 2.5mm MDR-S rotors that heat up more slowly, stay in their ideal temperature range longer, and deliver a smooth, vibration-free, quiet braking feel even under continuous load. Unlike the PRO, it can also run conventional 2.0mm rotors with no bleeding or adjustments needed, a real bonus if you’re upgrading and want to reuse your existing rotors.
