The rigid rotors and low system heat also give the GUSTAV PRO a remarkably calm, vibration-free feel under full load.
All that extra material pays off in the workshop too. With a 2.1mm rotor wear limit and thicker pads, Magura says you can roughly double the time between brake services, a big deal on heavy, powerful e-bikes that chew through standard pads and rotors.

Our thoughts:
If the RACE PRO is Magura’s lightweight race weapon, the GUSTAV PRO is its heavy-duty workhorse. It gives up a little peak power and some weight to the RACE PRO, but in exchange you get far more thermal reserve and pad life for sustained, heavy braking. For e-MTBs, DH bikes, and riders who spend long days on steep terrain, that trade is absolutely worth it. Just remember to budget for 2.5mm MDR-S rotors, since standard 2.0mm rotors won’t work with this system.
