The latest Maxxis Dissector II brings big gains in control, cornering and braking. Larger side knobs create a bigger footprint for more grip and stability, especially on hardpack. The center tread keeps its fast-rolling 2-3-2 layout, but the center knobs are now split to improve braking bite and help the tire conform to the terrain. The transition knobs have been moved further out for smoother, more predictable cornering. These Dissector models use the new generation MaxxTerra compound, an all-new rubber formula that Maxxis says delivers 30% more durability and 15% more traction with no loss in rolling efficiency.
Run it up front on a 130 to 140mm trail bike, or as a fast rear tire on a 150mm+ bike in dry conditions. It also pairs well with a Forekaster or Rekon.

Our thoughts:
The updated Dissector is a big step forward, with braking and cornering grip that the original never quite had, while still rolling fast. In the new generation MaxxTerra compound it makes a great fast rear tire for dry summer trails, or a confident front on a lighter trail bike.
