The Maxxis Forekaster is built for modern short-travel trail bikes in the 100 to 130mm range, the bikes often called downcountry. It is designed as the ideal middle ground: faster rolling than a Minion or Dissector, with more predictable cornering, climbing and braking grip than an Aspen or Rekon. Run it front or rear. These Forekaster models use the new generation MaxxTerra compound, an all-new rubber formula that Maxxis says delivers 30% more durability and 15% more traction with no loss in rolling efficiency. Available in EXO or EXO+ casing for 27.5" and 29" wheels.

Our thoughts:
The Forekaster fills a gap that a lot of riders did not realize they had. If a Minion feels like too much tire for your short-travel bike but a racier XC tread leaves you nervous in the corners, this is the answer. In the new generation MaxxTerra compound it is a great all-rounder for fast trail riding, front and rear.
